BLA examines learning & development export opportunities

The British Learning Association (BLA) is receiving support from the government organisation UK Trade & Investment (UKTI) to conduct market research into learning & development export opportunities.

UKTI aims to support companies in the UK doing business internationally, and overseas enterprises that are seeking to set up or expand in the UK.

Initially a pilot project, sector market research is being conducted from the UK to investigate key areas of learning and development activity in Spain.

Following the outcomes of the research, a team of BLA consultants will be commissioned to visit Spain over the next two months to investigate the learning and development sector further, with a view to assessing the export opportunities for relevant UK organisations.

A one day event is scheduled to take place in the first week of December in the Yorkshire & Humberside region to disseminate the findings and to raise awareness in general of international export opportunities for providers in the learning and development sector.

According to the BLA, the event will include a series of case studies from BLA members that have experience of export business. The event in December will be the first of what will become a series of events scheduled in the UK for 2006.
