BLA Quality Forum member Alistair Morrison presented the key features of the scheme in a launch seminar held at the event. The BLA says its Quality Mark, which has been redeveloped over the last 18 months, is targeted at both suppliers and users of learning and aims to drive the quality of learning provision and the impact that it has on organisational performance. Speaking on the launch, chair of the BLA Quality Forum, Lance Spraggons, said "I was heartened by the number of visitors to the show who either attended the launch or visited the BLA stand to find out more about the new Quality Mark. We have a number of strong leads to follow up and I am confident that we shall see more organisations registering for the Quality Mark. There seems to be a genuine interest in quality in the learning sector and the BLA is ideally positioned to support those who wish to demonstrate there commitment" Brian Merison, general manager of the BLA added, "The Quality Mark incorporates a valuable process of self-assessment using good practice indicators - this is a proven approach for all who wish to review, develop and improve their internal systems." Six organisations have already signed up to achieve the award - Cranfield e-Learning, DeltaNet International, Department for Work & Pensions, National Grid, Skills Train and Walkgrove.
