Four million people take LSC's nextstep

The Learning and Skills Council (LSC) has announced that since August 2004 its nexstep service has provided over four million adults in England with free information and advice on learning, training, courses and jobs.

Through the nexstep service, people, aged 20 years and over, can get information from an independent nextstep adviser on what options and financial assistance are available in their area.

David Way, Director of Skills at the LSC said: "It's a really exciting time for adults looking to improve their lot in terms of literacy and skills. nextstep is providing a popular and valued service in the community and we would encourage more people to use its facilities to find out more about the learning opportunities and financial help available to them."
