Home > News > March 2006 > 07-Mar-2006 Financial Services Skills Council appoints new chairmanStuart Bernau, commercial and communications director of Nationwide Building Society, has been appointed Chairman of the Financial Services Skills Council (FSSC). Bernau has served on the FSSC board since the organisation was established in 2004 as well as on the board of its predecessor, the Financial Services National Training Organisation (FSNTO). Commenting on his appointment, Bernau said: "As a knowledge-based business, financial services is absolutely dependent on the skills of its workforce to achieve success and I see my role as helping to push skills issues to the very top of the industry's agenda." Teresa Sayers, Chief Executive of the FSSC, added: "Stuart has already made a significant contribution to the work of the Skills Council and I look forward to working closely with him to further our remit of building world leading skills throughout the industry."
