Home > News > September 2006 > 11 September 2006 New chair of Asset Skills appointedAfter nearly two years, Willie Haughey OBE is stepping down as chair of Asset Skills, the Sector Skills Council for the property, housing, facilities management and cleaning sectors. Chris Cracknell, chief executive of OCS Group will take over as chair with immediate effect. Asset Skills CEO Richard Beamish said: "We are grateful to Willie for steering Asset Skills through an eventful and progressive first two years. Fortunately for us his considerable knowledge and skills will not be lost as we will retain a close working relationship." Beamish added: "Chris Cracknell brings with him a wealth of experience and commitment and will ensure we continue to focus on helping employers with skills and recruitment, while avoiding the excessive bureaucracy that can stifle creativity and practical support."
