The careers map is designed to summarise progression routes throughout the sector and demonstrate the range of career options available. SummitSkills says the map tracks typical routes through a building services engineering career, from entry, through structured training and workplace experience, to professional qualifications and career functions. It also summarises core craft, technical and engineering job descriptions with the aim of providing a flavour of what the work would entail and to assist learners to select the right path to reflect their individual interests. SummitSkills has distributed the map to schools and careers offices across the UK. An interactive web version will be available soon to allow users to access this careers information online.
