The awards – to be presented at Battersea Evolution on 28 February 2008 – are designed to recognise the most inspiring and progressive workplaces as rated by their employees. Geoff Armstrong, director general of the CIPD, said: "The CIPD is delighted to help celebrate the success of leading organisations in engaging with their employees. Organisations that engage the commitment and willing contribution of their employees have a competitive advantage in today’s global marketplace. We’re pleased to work with Best Companies and The Sunday Times to champion this simple but important message." Jonathan Austin, founder & CEO of Best Companies, said: "We are delighted that the CIPD is sponsoring our awards this year, their agenda supports our primary purpose of helping to make the world a better workplace and like us they recognise that people really are at the heart of the workplace." The CIPD will also sponsor an award recognising the organisation that is 'Best for Leadership'.
