Final call for retail training scholarships

Skillsmart Retail and Retail Trust have made a final call for retailers to apply for seven training scholarships.

Applicants until Thursday 28th January 2010 to apply for one of the free places worth nearly £2,000 each for the Oxford Retail Masters Forum.

The four-day residential course will be held at the Saïd Business School, University of Oxford from 22nd - 25th March 2010.

Anne Seaman, chief executive of Skillsmart Retail said: "This is the last chance to get on to one of the best training courses in the country for free so I would urge retailers not to miss out on the opportunity."

Delegates on the course, run by the British Shops and Stores Association, take part in a series of lectures and seminars looking at a range of topics affecting retail.

Previous scholarship winners have praised the course for providing networking opportunities, giving practical ideas for enhancing their own businesses and providing a deeper insight into both current and future challenges.

Skillsmart Retail says scholarships are available to anyone who has worked in the industry for at least seven years, and are particularly relevant for senior managers, regional managers and store managers. Applications are particularly encouraged from SMEs and independent retail businesses.
