Closing date approaches for ICT in Practice Awards 2006

The closing date of 31st March is fast approaching for nominating entries to Becta's ICT in Practice Awards 2006. Nominations for the awards are open to all practitioners, ranging from those that work in the early years right through to the adult and community learning sectors.

Categories include: Advice and support; Collaboration; Inclusion; Leadership; Learning assistance; New to teaching; and Teaching. Themes running through all the categories include: commitment to the use of ICT for learning and teaching; understanding the benefits of ICT in raising standards; the ability to inspire and motivate learners and colleagues; visionary and sustainable ongoing plans.

Learning Tree add new course to network security curriculum

Learning Tree International has announced the addition of a new course, Securing Wireless Networks: Hands-On, to its list of offerings focused on network and system security.

Jennifer Urick, Vice President of Product Development for Learning Tree International, said, "This course is designed to provide attendees with valuable tools with which they can create a cost-effective security solution for their organizations' wireless networks."

The 4-day course is aimed at individuals who manage, operate, audit or implement secure networks. Learning Tree intends to offer the course in North America beginning in March 2005 and in London in April 2005.

Watsonia Publishing appoints new UK Head of Sales

IT courseware supplier Watsonia Publishing has appointed Andrew Kempshall as it new UK Head of Sales.

Kempshall will be responsible for the company's sales activities across the corporate and government sector, with responsibility for the UK and near European markets.

David Kelly, Operations Director commented, "Andrew has a highly developed commitment to quality courseware products and customer satisfaction, and his proven track record of sales success will allow Watsonia to continue its expansion into the UK market".
