HSE publishes report into the development of violence management trainers

The Health and Safety Executive (HSE) today publishes a research report into the development of effective trainers in delivering violence management training in the healthcare sector. The report is published jointly with NHS Security Management Service.

The research was commissioned following the report 'A Safer Place to Work NHS 2003' published by the National Audit Office (NAO). The NAO report found that there was a lack of evidence based information to support the process of selection, development and management of the trainers who provide violence and aggression management training within the healthcare sector.

Blue Water Partnership trains 3,000th manager

Management training company The Blue Water Partnership has announced it has trained its 3,000th manager since starting up in business six years ago.

Managing director Gordon Roscoe said: "We work with each individual to create a programme that applies directly to their own role at work. We agree specific workplace objectives that relate to what is discussed in each session, and then at the next session we go back to these objectives and look at how successful the individual has been in implementing them. This is mentoring as much as training, and is a results-driven approach."

Verve Venues to become De Vere Venues

AHG's Richard Balfour-Lynn commented: "Now that we have acquired De Vere, we have decided to adopt the name that has so much recognition with both the general public and business users. De Vere Venues will be the new name of our training, conferencing and meetings business..

"We now have two brilliant businesses under one great brand. The De Vere name is well established and highly respected within the hospitality & leisure industry and we are going to capitalise on this."
