The event is aimed at automotive manufacturers, their suppliers, and automation-technology agents, and will look at the application of e-learning, content creation, content sharing, and the deployment of e-learning as collateral product information. Birmingham's Symphony Hall to host marketing awards ceremony On Friday 10 November Birmingham's Symphony Hall will be filled with graduates receiving their Chartered Institute of Marketing Postgraduate Diploma. The ceremony was held in London two years ago, but returned to Birmingham in 2005. The city has now hosted the event eleven times. Paul Gostick, The Chartered Institute of Marketing's chairman said: "We are delighted to be coming to Birmingham again this year. This is a momentous occasion in the lives of our graduates, a significant proportion of whom are international and travel to the ceremony from as far a field as Sri Lanka, Ghana and Malaysia, amongst others." Some 1300 guests are expected at the event. Speakers at the graduation ceremony include the Lord Mayor of Birmingham; Lord Heseltine, The Institute's president; and Paul Gostick, who will present the awards with the Institute's dean of senate, Caroline Tynan.
Road haulage operator wins training award Skills for Logistics, the Sector Skills Council for the freight logistics industries, has announced that family run haulage contractor J W Morrison is the winner of the award for Scotland’s top training road haulage operator. Ian Hetherington, chief executive of Skills for Logistics, said: "It is very encouraging to see that small and mid-size businesses are supportive of training. Companies like J W Morrison are open-minded to the opportunities for the business presented by Continuous Professional Development and up-skilling, and as a result are reaping the rewards in more ways than one." J W Morrison owner Joe Morrison said: "A more skilled workforce is helping to ensure that our company grows and is able to maintain a competitive edge.
