This option was offered beginning November 26th, 2003, when the latest upgrades of the two CompTIA A+ exams were released. Since A+ is a two-exam certification, CompTIA wanted to allow sufficient notice to those who had already passed one of the exams. The grace period originally scheduled to end June 30th will now end on September 30th, 2004. All CompTIA A+ candidates who have already prepared for and passed one of the two exams - either a 2001 Core Hardware or a 2001 Operating Systems exam - are urged to make the most of the remaining grace period and schedule the remaining exam as soon as possible. After September 30th, all candidates will be required to pass both 2003 exams -- the 2003 Core Hardware exam and the 2003 Operating Systems exam - in order to become certified.
