The objectives of the 2005 certification exam are now posted online for review by courseware developers, curriculum planners, and instructors. CompTIA are encouraging candidates who have studied, or are currently studying, the existing exam objectives to register to take the exam as soon as possible. "We plan to introduce the upgraded certification exam (the version that tests against the 2005 objectives) to coincide with the conclusion of the 2004-2005 academic year," said Kris Madura, certification program manager, CompTIA. "This will give authors and publishers the length of time needed to adequately revise text and test prep materials, as well as allow instructors to effectively transition classes toward coverage of topics and scenarios found on the 2005 exam. The introduction of the 2005 exam should be seamless from the learner's point of view, which is what CompTIA is striving for." Gene Salois, vice-president, Certification, CompTIA, said: "CompTIA A+, Network+, and now Security+ are recognised respectively as the foundational certificate for PC technicians, network administrators, and security professionals. The major investment CompTIA is making in the Network+ upgrade ensures that this important certification remains current and relevant to the needs of individuals, employers, and the IT industry at large."
