Airbus chooses BroadSkill for UK IT training

Freelance trainer supplier BroadSkill and Elliott Computer Training of Bristol have been selected to provide all IT user training for around 12,000 UK employees at Airbus.

The new agreement covers UK training on Microsoft Office, Unix and other topics and follows the setting up of a new worldwide IS training organisation tasked with increasing staff skills at the aircraft manufacturing company

Harry Eils, Head of IT Service Training at Airbus, said: "It is absolutely mandatory that every member of our company is able to use our IS tools well, otherwise we don't gain the benefit."

Following a procurement selection process, BroadSkill and Elliott were chosen principally on the basis of stability and customer service. "They both are very customer-oriented and have been successful in their fields for a long time," said Eils. "Training is a tough business environment and to continue to be successful over a long period is an important indicator."

In addition, the suppliers are close geographically to Airbus UK's main centres at Filton, near Bristol, and Broughton in Flintshire, North Wales.

Stephen Fletcher, Managing Director of BroadSkill, said: "This agreement represents a large and important new win for BroadSkill. We normally supply our trainers indirectly through other training vendors, but having been approached directly by Airbus, we felt we had to respond to their particular needs. As always, customer service is absolutely top of our agenda."
