Inmarsat chooses new LMS

The Matchett Group is supplying Pathlore's learning management system (LMS) to Global mobile satellite communications operator Inmarsat.

Inmarsat's Training manager Clayton Littlewood said: "We will use the LMS to launch and track our e-learning programs which provide new product training; on-line students will be able to send Inmarsat web-based feedback after they have completed the courses; it will streamline and centralise our training administration function; the LMS reporting function will be used to track costs and numbers, and the testing facility will help us to find out how effective the e-learning has been.

"There will be an extensive training programme for the new Inmarsat 1-4 satellite system, which from 2005 will support the Inmarsat Broadband Global Area Network (B-GAN) - mobile data communications at up to 432kbits/s for internet access, mobile multimedia and many other advanced applications. This will all be managed by the LMS."
