Shaw Trust selects InfoBasis' skills management system

Shaw Trust has chosen InfoBasis' skills management software to help measure and analyse the skills of its workforce.

Shaw Trust provides training and work opportunities for people who are disadvantaged in the labour market due to disability, ill health or other social circumstances. The charity is aiming to develop and allocate skilled individuals within the organisation more efficiently.

Juliet Adams, national training manager at Shaw Trust, said: "We chose to implement skills management because as an organisation we wanted to be smarter and more strategic in the way we deploy our people, and make sure that we are using the best people for each task or project."

Employees will be able to analyse skills based on the Shaw Trust core competencies as well as the Oxford Behavioural Framework.

Shaw Trust says the skills audit will also complement their annual appraisal system, giving managers and employees a transparent view of the individual's progress across various skill sets specific to Shaw Trust, including decision-making and influence.

Ashley Wheaton, CEO of InfoBasis, said: "All organisations can benefit from deploying their resources more efficiently and effectively, but it's impossible to do unless you know what you've got. Shaw Trust is the first organisation to adopt our charity pricing model."
