Called The Practice of Leadership, the two-day programme uses a form of experiential learning called Mythodrama and is designed to help managers learn and practice their desired leadership styles. "The essential purpose of theatre is to ‘hold a mirror up to nature’ so that we can gain an insight into ourselves," said Richard Olivier. "Mythodrama combines theatrical techniques, psychology, organisational theory and practical exercises. "By ‘acting out’ their desired leadership behaviours, and the leadership role they find most challenging, the participants can overcome their leadership ‘blind-spots’ and enhance their expertise. This process creates an embodied memory of their learning which they can then apply in their everyday challenges in the workplace." Run in conjunction with Richard Olivier’s company Olivier Mythodrama, The Practice of Leadership will be delivered at Roffey Park’s development centre in St Leonard’s Forest, near Horsham in West Sussex. "Leaders on the programme can raise specific problems or issues they are facing and they can gain invaluable input and advice from the tutors and the other participants," said Steve Tarpey, Director of Open Programmes at Roffey Park. ‘The Practice of Leadership’ is priced £1,500+VAT.
