Over eighty providers submitted tenders to deliver the 'Leading from the Middle', 'Leadership Pathways' and the 'Early Headship Provision' programmes. Chief executive for NCSL, Steve Munby, said: "NCSL has chosen these providers after a rigorous selection process. We are confident that they will provide teachers and school leaders with the very best professional development, which will equip leaders to make a difference to children's life chances. "The selection process has succeeded in bringing in new organisations to provide development for school leaders, providing a fresh perspective and new energy." The providers and the regions in which they will be delivering the programmes are: Leading from the Middle
Leadership Pathways
Early Headship Provision
Leading from the Middle is NCSL's programme for middle leaders including heads of department and heads of key stages. A group of participants work collaboratively on the programme in school, supported throughout by a leadership coach who is often a senior leader within the school. Leadership Pathways is a personalised and flexible programme that launches this October, and offers modular development opportunities for experienced middle leaders, assistant heads and deputies. Headteachers in their first headship are eligible for the Early Headship Provision, which provides leadership development support for school leaders in the first three years of this role.
