As Shaw Trust's 1200 staff celebrated the plaudit, the organisation said it would continue its drive to ensure that it is an innovative employer of choice. Companies were judged by the Corporate Research Foundation's research team for the Guardian's annual survey and 99 are featured in 'Britain's Top Employers 2007'. Shaw Trust scored highly in the sections of training, people and innovation. The organisation's training programmes include the recent company-wide mental health awareness training, and the 2005-launched leadership programmes, aimed at training staff to be the leaders of tomorrow. Carol Alexander, the Trust's chief officer of people and performance, said: "Recruiting and retaining the very best staff available throughout the UK is our goal, so naturally we are thrilled to have been acknowledged in this way. As a leading charity specialising in employment, we need to ensure that our staff feel valued and equipped to deliver our specialist services to the highest standards."
