NHS graduate training scheme wins award

The NHS Graduate Management Training Scheme has won the 'Best of the Best' Award at 2007 Association of Graduate Recruiters (AGR) Awards.

The NHS programme also took home the Graduate Selection and Assessment Award, a new category for 2007.

The judges praised the scheme for communicating a strong link between cultural values and recruitment competencies. They were also impressed by its verification process involving senior managers, scheme alumni and trainees.

Nicola Fair, corporate lead for the graduate training scheme, said "We are delighted with the scheme's latest win, which provides further recognition of the serious approach the NHS is taking to ensure we produce quality future leaders.

"These Awards are recognition that the NHS is able to recruit and develop the most able senior leaders to deliver healthcare systems of the future."

Julie Ribbons the national resourcing manager for the scheme said: "The Graduate Scheme strives to continuously improve and develop leading edge techniques. These awards demonstrate the continued investment the NHS is making to ensure the future health services of the country will be in the most able of hands."

The annual AGR awards, now in their 19th year, aim to recognise and reward graduate recruiters for creative and innovative campaigns that attract the best graduate talent. The awards were announced at the organisation's annual conference held last week in Newport, Wales.
