Home > News > April 2009 > 01 April 2009 Acas and CIPD unveil people management conference agendaAcas, the employment relations service, and the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD) have revealed the line up and agenda for their joint conference, set to take place in London on the 11th June 2009. 'Resilience through recession: The crucial role of people management and development' is taking place at the Queen Elizabeth II Conference Centre, London. Keynote speakers at the event include Ed Sweeney (Acas Chair), Jackie Orme (CIPD Chief Executive), John Philpott (CIPD Director of Public Policy) Frances O'Grady (TUC Deputy General Secretary) and Chris Humphries (UK Commission for Employment and Skills Chief Executive). Presentation themes include:
The organisers say a series of interactive seminars will be staged, focusing on themes such as the line managers' role in supporting learning, managing stress and reducing workplace conflict. Ed Sweeney, Acas Chair commented: "This event is bringing together some of the most prominent employment relations and HR experts in employment relations and HR, to helping business leaders understand how to support managers in engaging with and motivating employees in the downturn."
