Home > News > November 2010 > 01 November 2010 The Leaders Guide to InfluenceA new book, 'The Leaders Guide to Influence', written by Ashridge Business School’s Mike Brent and Fiona Dent, looks at the complex issues facing the modern manager and how the ability to influence is more important than ever.
The book leads the reader through a range of skills, processes, tools and techniques designed to help the manager or team leader to become more influential. It includes a combination of practical exercises, case studies and advice. Mike Brent is head of experiential learning and a client and programme director at Ashridge Business School. He specialises in leadership, team-building, influencing, coaching, cross-cultural management, leading change and personal development. Fiona Elsa Dent is a director of executive education at Ashridge Business School where she manages programmes and client relationships. Fiona teaches and consults in a broad spectrum of leadership, personal, interpersonal and relationship skills and is trained in a range of psychometrics instruments. Both have previously written articles and books and, in particular, also wrote together 'Influencing: Skills and Techniques for Business Success'.
