A glossary of standard terms and definitions for project managers is now available from the Computing Technology Industry Association (CompTIA), the association announced this week. The CompTIA Project+ Glossary of Project Management Terms contains more than 250 entries of terminology commonly associated with project management tasks. The glossary is free of charge and is available for download at: www.comptia.org/certification/project/glossary.aspx Neill Hopkins, vice president of skills development at CompTIA, said: "Project management has evolved into a pervasive skill that crosses multiple departments and job titles, and today more and more people are being tasked with project management duties. "While no two projects are ever the same and each project has its own unique set of challenges, there is language that is common to successful project management practices. This glossary captures in a single document the words, phrases and terminology commonly used by successful project managers." Section 1 of the glossary contains basic project management terminology which CompTIA says should be reviewed in preparation for the CompTIA Project+ exam. Project+ is part of CompTIA's vendor-neutral family of certifications and is aimed at project managers, and those who manage projects as part of their job role.
