Manchester City Council has developed a public sector tailored model for project management called the 'Manchester Method'. Manchester City Council's strategic planner, Kevin Fletcher, said: "Strong project management skills are central to achieving the ambitious plans for the City of Manchester. Our aim is to achieve better outcomes for the people of Manchester through the effective delivery of projects. Our initial priority was capital projects, however we have now widened the scope of our project management approach to include change projects within service delivery. Steve Moran, head of the project and programme management practice at QA-IQ, said: "This is a great opportunity to deliver the innovation that will help take Manchester City Council to another level of project management maturity. "The Manchester Method is recognised across the industry as a tailored working model for project management and the new version will provide further 'real-world' organisational challenges in every project undertaken. This is something that QA-IQ feels is central to the success of all training, making this programme a great fit for our expertise. We are working with the council over the next three years to evolve and maintain an industry-leading programme."
