Energy & Utility Skills launches careers website

A new website for careers in the energy and utility sector, aimed at 14 to 19 year olds, has been launched by sector skills council Energy & Utility Skills (EU Skills).

The site is offers information on Apprenticeships for the electricity, gas, water and waste management industries, and features advice for young people considering a career in the sector

Tracy Male, information, advice and guidance co-ordinator, EU Skills, said: "I am delighted to announce the launch of the Energy & Utility Skills careers website. There are many exciting careers in the electricity, gas, waste management, and water industries, which have great opportunities for progression, are well paid and are jobs where you can make a real difference."

The site covers includes information about jobs for young people such as entry requirements, training and careers events across the UK. It offers advice on career progression, salary, 'next steps' to take to start a career, games, and links to employers.

The information on the types of jobs and Apprenticeships available in the industries are backed up by video and text case studies from young people doing similar jobs in the sector.

EU Skills says it intends to expands the site with more links to job vacancies and information on Higher Education and employers' in the sector.
