Chartered Institute of Marketing certificate courses

As part of its three-year programme to redevelop its four core marketing qualifications, The Chartered Institute of Marketing has announced the launch of its first two levels, both of which will be taught from July 2008. These are the Introductory Certificate in Marketing and the Professional Certificate in Marketing.

The Institute says the qualifications incorporate the new National Occupational Standards in Marketing as specified by the Marketing and Sales Standards Setting Body (MSSSB).

Commenting on the launch, Professor Keith Fletcher, director of education at The Chartered Institute of Marketing said: "Employers should see a real benefit from staff taking the new qualifications as they will be equipped with practical skills to deliver value to the business.

"The professional marketing standards themselves can be used in their people development programmes to ensure that marketing staff progress their careers in line with business requirements and also to ensure they recruit competent and responsible marketers."
